DURING A THREE DAY COURSE
This boat license will allow you to sail / cruise in a limit of six nautical miles (~11 kms) on any kind of ship.
The course takes place as follow :
Coastal Theory :
- Beacons
- Sound and Harbour signals
- Boat lights and marks
- Road and helm rules
- Safety at sea
Lessons take place with slides that are explained by the instructor and during the multiple choice test similar to the exam test.
Practical : 4 hours
- Portside and starboard drawing alongside
- Emergency stop
- Man over baord
- Safety and equipment on board
- Sailing and compass bearings.
- Ancorage
- Reaction in emergency situations
The boat license application is quite simple :

The boat license date will be appointed as soon as your application is received by the "Affaires Maritimes" in Nice (The application should be completed three weeks before the exam during the summer season).
The exam can take place in the port of Nice.

- Individual Course : 690 €
- Extra individual course 150 €/H
